A man in his thirties said throughout his childhood and teenage years his fights with his angry and authoritarian father had made life miserable for him.
“Deal with your father wound,” the sage suggested. “Otherwise your conflict with your father will taint your other relationships too.”
The man smiled in recognition because he was having difficulties with his boss and anyone else in power. Yet he protested, “My father has changed a great deal since my childhood. He is a very different man now.”
“The father at home may have changed,” the sage replied, “but not the one in your head. He is the one who controls you.”
