Let me introduce myself

I am Dr. Francis Valloor, Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has been working with clients from over 30 countries for the last 35 years.  I have also been practising and teaching Awareness/Mindfulness for the last 45 years having worked with Anthony de Mello most of my life.

I conduct Awareness/Mindfulness workshops and seminars in Awareness (Mindfulness) internationally. These events focus on bringing Awareness into daily life of work, relationships and so on. I am also the author of six books combining these two aspects of psychology and Awareness.

People come to psychotherapy for a variety of reasons. They may be overwhelmed, stuck or struggling with the difficulties and problems of life. Many have suffered different types of trauma. Some are in life crises while others are seeking relief from anxiety, depression or other emotional distress or turmoil.

The global crisis has affected us in different ways, and we are all are vulnerable to its enormous impact. You may experience anxiety, depression, grief and other emotions that arise as a result.   Many of your vulnerabilities, relationship problems and loneliness may resurface. Or the crisis may be of a psycho-spiritual nature for you.

It is important to know you don’t need to suffer this way. You can change, you can be happy and find peace again. It is helpful for you to know that someone who is skilful and cares for you is here to  help and support you.

Regardless of what the problems are, or how long they have suffered them, I seek to convey the conviction that change is possible and that they can indeed come to the peace and happiness that they long for in life.

Our purpose is to make Awareness, not merely an experience of meditation, but to light up our lives by bringing it into our daily living.

The themes that we’ll cover in this initial phase are – the Blindness of Our Lives, and the Meaning of Awareness. We’ll look at the Experience of Presence and of Embodiment. We’ll explore the life of our hearts and emotions and our Relationships.

If as you do this inner journey, you begin to observe real transformation in your life, you will have benefitted from it. These have to be reflected in some way in your emotional life, in your body, and in your relationships. It has to be seeing something new, a new understanding of yourself and life, leading to some degree of transformation.
